Confiscation

Congress has passed a 90% tax on bonuses given to AIG employees. 

So to recap:

1.  AIG gets bailout money from the government, now totaling almost $200 billion.

2.  AIG has legally-binding contracts with its employees to pay them bonuses of specified amounts.

3.  Congress and the President specifically allow AIG to pay those bonuses as part of the stimulus plan.

4.  AIG pays the bonuses to its employees.

5.  Congress and the President shit a brick when they realize that this looks kind of distasteful, blame everybody but themselves, and then pass a tax to confiscate that legally-obtained wealth from private citizens.

Logic and reason no longer apply here.  We are being led by people who have no principles and no idea what they’re doing, but demand that they take more control over our lives.
