Sarah Palin Resigns as Alaska Governor

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D99776200&show_article=1

Is she running for president?
Is she running for Senate?
Is her marriage in trouble?
Is she pregnant?
Is she just sick of the creepy old men leering at her daughters?
Is she burnt out after spending half a million dollars on all of the legal battles over unfounded ethics charges?

Nobody knows what’s next.  All we know is that an exciting, inspiring, energetic conservative has decided to leave her current office.  It’s a little disheartening at first glance, but we’ll have to wait and see what her next step is.  It’s particularly disappointing with Argentinie Weinie Mark Sanford still floundering about in South Carolina.

"Once I decided not to run for re-election, I also felt that to embrace the conventional Lame Duck status in this particular climate would just be another dose of politics as usual, something I campaigned against and will always oppose," Palin said in a statement released by her office.

Boilerplate stuff.  She could be resigning for anything.

Palin said she planned to make a "positive change outside government," without elaborating. She also expressed frustration with her current role as governor.

"I cannot stand here as your governor and allow the millions of dollars and all that time go to waste just so I can hold the title of governor," Palin said.

Fair enough.  Her popularity with conservatives made her a target.  The left is intensely hateful toward this woman for a lot of reasons, and it certainly caused a lot of distractions from the job of running a state.  On the other hand, you’d like to see people fight through that kind of adversity and slander, but how much you can expect them to take is questionable.
