“An Institution of Dubious Merit”
From Societal Collapse Best Practices, just liked this particular nugget:
The American 4-year college is an institution of dubious merit. It exists because American public schools fail to teach in 12 years what Russian public schools manage to teach in 8. As fewer and fewer people become able to afford college, which is likely to happen, because meager career prospects after graduation will make them bad risks for student loans, perhaps this will provide the impetus to do something about the public education system. One idea would be to scrap it, then start small, but eventually build something a bit more on par with world standards.
We require a phenomenal higher-education system in this country because our primary education is so horrific. The main difference between schools and colleges/universities are that one is dominated by teachers’ unions, the other is just influenced by alumni and tenured jackasses. Oh, and I guess there’s also school choice in the college market.
This nail in the coffin was brought to you by the National Education Association.
Berkeley High May Cut Out Science Labs
The proposal would trade labs seen as benefiting white students for resources to help struggling students.
Social justice. Spreading the wealth around. Equal sharing of miseries. Whatever you call it, the politically-correct left would rather hobble the achievers in favor of the stragglers. It’s gotten to the point where they’re going to actively take resources away from successful white kids in order to direct resources to struggling non-white kids. It’s not racism if white people are the victims.
Berkeley High School is considering a controversial proposal to eliminate science labs and the five science teachers who teach them to free up more resources to help struggling students.
The proposal to put the science-lab cuts on the table was approved recently by Berkeley High’s School Governance Council, a body of teachers, parents, and students who oversee a plan to change the structure of the high school to address Berkeley’s dismal racial achievement gap, where white students are doing far better than the state average while black and Latino students are doing worse.
Paul Gibson, an alternate parent representative on the School Governance Council, said that information presented at council meetings suggests that the science labs were largely classes for white students. He said the decision to consider cutting the labs in order to redirect resources to underperforming students was virtually unanimous.
We seem intent on hobbling civilization at an institutional level, for some reason. Thank Christ for the home-school movement. Nobody cares about your kid’s education more than you do.

Christmas means it time for diversity
It’s crazy when stuff like this shows up on the same day. This is a stupid country.
First:
Second-graders sing about Allah in their holiday performance
Here’s what the children were assigned to sing:
“Allah is God, we recall at dawn,
Praying ‘til night during Ramadan
At this joyful time we pray happiness for you,
Allah be with you all your life through.”But when it came time to perform the “Christian” part of Christmas, children were assigned to say:
“I didn’t know there was a little boy at the manger. What child is this?
I’m not sure if there was a little boy or not.
Then why did you paint one on your nativity window?
I just thought if there was a little boy, I’d like to know exactly what he (sic) say.
Second:
Second-grader suspended over drawing of Jesus
A Taunton father is outraged after his 8-year-old son was sent home from school and required to undergo a psychological evaluation after drawing a stick-figure picture of Jesus Christ on the cross.
The father said he got a call earlier this month from Maxham Elementary School informing him that his son, a second-grade student, had created a violent drawing. The image in question depicted a crucified Jesus with Xs covering his eyes to signify that he had died on the cross. The boy wrote his name above the cross.

Kevin Jennings, the President’s Perv
Obama’s "safe schools" czar is the founder of the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network (GLSEN). Remember, he was previously criticized for not reporting the statutory rape of an underage boy by an older man when he was a teacher.
REMEMBER: Obama says we’re supposed to measure him by the associations he has. We’re supposed to judge him by the quality of his advisers. So along with the communists, maoists, revolutionaries, America-hating preachers, and felons, we need to make sure we add extreme sexual perverts and child predators.
This is apparent the best guy Obama could find to be his special advisor about the safety of children. It’s impossible that all of these bad people are running this country by accident or through ignorance. At some point, we have to acknowledge that there is actual evil intent going on here. The question is whether we as Americans care or not. Anyway:
During the 2000 GLSEN conference, workshop leaders led a “youth only, ages 14-21" session that offered lessons in “fisting” a dangerous sexual practice. During another workshop an activist asked 14 year-old students, “Spit or swallow?… Is it rude?”
Then in 2001:
More students attended this year. Out of approximately 650 attendees, about 400 of those were students.
Kits of plastic gloves intended for “fisting” or oral sex were distributed at Planned Parenthood’s table in the lobby.
Public funds were used for the event with at least two school buses being used to transport students, from Methuen High School and Marblehead Public Schools. Adam Glick, Conference Coordinator, said he did not know how the buses were paid for. Other children were transported by public school teachers in private cars
GLSEN has also released "reading lists" for kids, one for ages K-6 and another for 7-12. Including:

(At the age of six, the author frequently performed fellatio on his fellow first-graders in the school restroom, part of a “busy homosexual childhood.”)
My sexual exploits with my neighborhood playmates continued. I lived a busy homosexual childhood, somehow managing to avoid venereal disease through all my toddler years. By first grade I was sexually active with many friends. In fact, a small group of us regularly met in the grammar school lavatory to perform fellatio on one another. A typical week’s schedule would be Aaron and Michael on Monday during lunch; Michael and Johnny on Tuesday after school; Fred and Timmy at noon Wednesday; Aaron and Timmy after school on Thursday. None of us ever got caught, but we never worried about it anyway. We all understood that what we were doing was not to be discussed freely with adults but we viewed it as a fun sort of confidential activity. None of us had any guilty feelings about it; we figured everyone did it. Why shouldn’t they?

(A five-year-old girl and a six-year-old girl engage in sex games.)
I am five and Katie is six. Her birthday is in September. Mine is in June. We are both in kindergarten, she in the p.m. class and me in the a.m., but we go to day care together. We are best friends.
…
Today I am going to Katie’s for a playdate.
…
Katie pulls her shorts off. She is wearing blue and white polka-dotted Hanes underwear, the kind that I have at home. They come in a three-pack with a matching blue pair and a matching white pair. She lies down on her floor and pulls her underwear off over her butt, and tells me to spank her because she’s the baby and I’m the mommy. It seems kind of weird and she yells at me to do it. Then she makes me be the baby and she spanks me, too. She tells me that I should learn how to French-kiss because boys always do that, so she kisses me and puts her tongue in my mouth. I roll my tongue hot-dog style, because that is fun.
Her mommy drives me home, and in the backseat of her white car Katie Frenches me again.
We are in second grade now, and Katie still makes me practice Frenching her.
