ObamaChrist, Part II
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0208/8605.html
He walks into a room and you want to follow him somewhere, anywhere,” George Clooney told talk show host Charlie Rose.
“I’ll do whatever he says to do,” actress Halle Berry said to the Philadelphia Daily News. “I’ll collect paper cups off the ground to make his pathway clear.”
His candidacy and popularity are clearly about Obama the man, his identity, his personality. You don’t worship someone simply because you agree with him. You worship a God, a King, a Savior. You worship a personality, not an ideology.
I don’t know. It freaks me out a little. This can go a couple of ways:
1. Obama makes a mistake, says something that makes people realize how weird this is, or that causes the shine to start to wear off, and everything fades back to reality. He can still end up winning the presidency as the most liberal person to ever hold the office, but he’s still just a president.
2. The cult continues on the current trajectory, and voicing opposition to the guy becomes a form of blasphemy. It’s already started. It’ll only get worse. Will conservative politicians have the balls to stand up against that kind of vitriol? Doubt it.

Nope, liberal bias there. Completely vapid bullshit, but they don’t appear to acknowledge that there are two political parties.

Kingdom on Earth
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/1907990/posts
“Sometimes this is a difficult road being in politics,” Obama said. “Sometimes you can become fearful, sometimes you can become vain, sometimes you can seek power just for power’s sake instead of because you want to do service to God. I just want all of you to pray that I can be an instrument of God in the same way that Pastor Ron and all of you are instruments of God.”
He finished his brief remarks by saying, “We’re going to keep on praising together. I am confident that we can create a Kingdom right here on Earth.”
1. What would have happened if Bush said anything even remotely like this?
2. What do anti-religious Obama supporters think of this?
3. From this statement, it doesn’t sound like Obama understands Christianity at all.
4. Who will be the “king”?

We have lost the understanding that in a democracy, we have a mutual obligation to one another — that we cannot measure the greatness of our society by the strongest and richest of us, but we have to measure our greatness by the least of these. That we have to compromise and sacrifice for one another in order to get things done. That is why I am here, because Barack Obama is the only person in this who understands that. That before we can work on the problems, we have to fix our souls. Our souls are broken in this nation.
1. Barack Obama can’t heal a soul. Jesus Christ can, but Obama can’t. Unless he’s Christ Returned.
2. Michelle Obama can’t diagnose the state of my soul. I don’t want her to, I don’t need her to.
3. We measure the greatness of our society not by the strongest and richest, OR by the weakest and poorest, but by the opportunity afforded to each of us.
4. This woman is a little unhinged.
5. Barack Obama believes that the way to fix souls is to adhere to a strict leftist/Marxist political agenda.
